This collection blends traditional Eastern silhouettes with contemporary practical designs, reviving the most captivating natural pleats from traditional Eastern tailoring. The designer reinterprets cross-collar styles and cuts originating from the Chu dynasty in China, introducing reversible heavy hammer satin bomber jackets, collarless blazers, draped collar jumpers, and adjustable-leg overalls. Additionally, the innovative technique of deconstructing gardening gloves is further developed. Natural latex glove components are seamlessly integrated with wool, deadstock fabrics, and high-tech functional materials, creating silhouettes that embody both eastern charm and three-dimensional structure.
The inspiration for this collection stems from a documentary photography project by the designer in a hometown horticultural nursery, capturing the authentic scenes of Chinese gardening work. The grass-covered cobblestones, plastic greenhouses with faint moss, stacks of colorful clay pots, and name tags of gardeners all narrate a story of nature and time.
This mood is felt through the aesthetic of the autumn garden. The natural growth, the marks of labor, and the passage of time are all intricately woven together. It dances between menswear and womenswear, creating new structures and silhouettes.
