This collection continues the theme of the previous season, Mount
Skyland Ascended in a Dream(Li Bai), while incorporating new explorations
of romantic poetry and dreamscapes. This season, the designer delves into
a cross-cultural study, bridging Eastern and Western artistic traditions, poem and oil painting.
The inspiration for this collection stems from two works by Salvador Dalí: The Birth of Liquid Anguish and Enigmatic Elements in a Landscape. Like Dalí's paintings and Li Bai's poem, CHŪNCHÉN AW25 uses dreams as a medium to present the fluid fusion of reality and fantasy. The irrational narratives and imagery within these dreamscapes reflect the deep-seated desires of the human psyche. Throughout the collection, Romantic poetry remains a constant thread, portraying the interplay between nature and emotion. Natural elements become an extension of human sentiment, imbued with symbolic meaning. Mountains, rivers, trees, birds, and mist are all infused with the designer’s emotions and creative ingenuity.
The collection deconstructs elements of both traditional and modern mountaineering and hiking gear, merging them with the flat-cutting techniques of traditional Eastern garments. This fusion results in silhouettes that are both playful and comfortable, offering a fresh structural aesthetic.
